Mission
Our mission is to create a safe environment for whisky enthusiasts and customers to buy and sell casks. By setting best practices in cask whisky ownership and sale, we aim to protect cask whisky customers and the wider whisky industry. Our goal is to uphold the overall reputation of the Scottish Whisky industry including independent bottlers. We provide clear and transparent advice, assistance and assurance to any customer buying or selling cask whisky.
The Association brings together members and is overseen by an advisory board made up members from all sides of the Scotch whisky industry to maintain high standards amongst existing and future members.
A
Vision
The Cask Whisky Association brings together all stakeholders from around the whisky industry leading on best practice to protect the industry and consumer.
Our carefully-curated board of Advisors offer a depth and breadth of knowledge from all sides of the industry and includes distilleries, authors, journalists as well as insurance and legal professionals.
The Association is lobbying Members of Parliament, the House of Lords and the Scottish Government in a bid to bring to light the challenges within the cask whisky sector at the highest level. Our primary objective is to influence relevant legislation.
The Association is also in discussions with organisations such as, the Worshipful Company of Distillers and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), seeking cooperation and collaboration. It is also petitioning The Bonded Warehousekeepers Association (The BWA) to gain their support.
Our purpose is to create a safe environment for whisky enthusiasts and customers to buy and sell casks. This will be achieved by a manifesto of best practices in cask whisky ownership and sale.
